Governor O’Malley proclaims March 29, 2010 Healthy Maryland Day
The Coalition for a Healthy Maryland and Governor Martin O’Malley proclaim March 29, 2010 the first Healthy Maryland Day.
Proclamation: “The Coalition for a Healthy Maryland is a collaboration of Maryland businesses, health clubs, insurers, non-profit associations and individuals devoted to improving the healthy of Marylanders; and whereas, the State of Maryland joins with the Coalition to fight for quality, affordable health care; and whereas, obesity is a precursor to serious illness and disease such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and cancer; and whereas, the State of Maryland joins with the Coalition for a Healthy Maryland to promote health care prevention efforts. Now, therefore, I, Martin O’Malley, Governor of the State of Maryland, do hereby proclaim March 29, 2010 as Healthy Maryland Day in Maryland, and do commend this celebration to all of our citizens.”
The Coalition for a Healthy Maryland commits to celebrating this day every year and this page will serve as a resource for updates for each year’s celebration.
